What is the diameter of this light fitting? How does it attach to the fan?

They are 200mm in diameter.
Providing you have a light adaptable fan then they just screw on undeneath the motor unit.

In order to attach the light to the fan, is an electrician required or can anyone do it? I am guessing that there are wires that need to be connected between the light and the fan.

Yes an electrician is needed to wire up this light to a fan as there is wires that need to be connected.

Is the product suitable for connection to Casablanca Model 6980-5 (Remote control) & is the light emitted sufficient to illuminate a standard size bedroom? Thank you.

I am not 100% with regards to that fan.
It should as most of the threads on these lights are standard.

If you purchase one and it doesn't fit you can send it back to us as long as it has not been installed.
