I am looking for lights to replace present downlights which are 12 v,50 W 36 degrees FNV closed dichroic with base GU 5.3. Will these do the job?

Yes these put out a similar amount of light as a 50W halogen globe.

Hi, what warranty do you offer with these? I am thinking about replacing about 30 down-lights with cfl but have heard that the 18w Espar fluoro are extremely unreliable and do not least anywhere near claimed hours of use. Is there any truth to this ?

Hi.

They come with a 12 Months manufactures warranty.
I have thus far found them to be very good. Based on the large volume of of these that we sell we have only had a handful back so I would rate them as pretty reliable.
Plus being backed by a 12 month warranty that is pretty good piece of mind.

Like all fluorescent globes they only come with a rated life. It is not guaranteed because they can be affected by so many factors such as power fluctuations.
