Hi there, can this fan be used outdoors in an undercover al fresco area, we are 20 km. from the sea. regards John

Hi.

You can, however only the blades are stainless steel. The body is just metal so over time it will rust.
If you are within 20KM of the sea I would strongly recommend getting a full 316 Stainless Steel fan if you budget allows.
The Cyclone series 2 316 from Martec is what I would suggest. It comes with a full warranty for use outdoors.

The fan has a 2 year in home warranty.

Is this suitable for outdoor use under a steel verandah? If so what length do extensions come in?

Hi.

I would not recommend this for outside as it will rust over time and is not warranted for use outside.
If you want something for outside I would suggest the Cyclone Series 2 - 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel Ceiling Fan. Just search for them on our website.
They are from Martec and are excellent for use in that environment and come with a in home warranty.
